Dear Friend:

It is my sincere hope that you have landed on this website because you are looking for a great location for a business or industry.  The Development Authority of Monroe County understands that if you are looking for a location, there is a great deal to consider.  Incentives, building costs, impact fees, infrastructure, cost to do business, permitting processes, timing,  availability of workforce and other critical criteria are all important…. and also to be considered is quality of life.   Employee housing.  How safe is the area?  What are the schools rated? What are the traffic patterns? Can we move product easily? Who are the county leaders and do they work together to promote business?  Basically….can my business and family realize healthy growth and success in this location?

My answer is a resounding “yes!”  In my short time of being in Monroe County, I have felt as I did as a child – living in a much simpler, friendlier time and in a much safer world.   Doors don’t necessarily have to be locked.  Citizens are helpful and hospitable.  Church bells still chime.  You can run several errands – to the bank, the grocery store, the post office – all in a half hour and the clerks WANT to help you and care that your matters are handled in a friendly and efficient manner.  Monroe County provides a kinder, gentler way of life and a safe place to grow a business and a family.
